interdenominational ministry at holy cross is for students of many christian traditions to explore and grow in faith, connect with others, and share their gifts with the wider community.
chaplains and the student leaders of this community strive for each participant to grow deeper in their unique faith traditions while affirming all we hold in common.
the interdenominational community worships together on sundays at 4:30 p.m. in the mary chapel. this student-led service of praise and worship features contemporary music, prayer, reflections on scripture, and a celebration of the lord’s supper on the first sunday of each month.
beyond sunday worship, there are opportunities for community events and bible study.
an inspired gathering of sunday afternoon praise and worship at 4:30 p.m. in the mary chapel, located on the lower level of st. joseph memorial chapel.
services begin with a musical prelude and a welcome by the student worship leader. the congregation is called into an attitude of worship with opening prayers and time for quiet reflection. there is time for greeting each other and praying in small groups. the praise and worship music team — a beautiful collection of voices, piano, percussion, and other instruments — leads several songs. we hear the word read aloud in scripture, and an interpretation of the word in sermon, exploring the meaning, purpose, and mystery of our lives in faith together.
tuesdays at 6 p.m. in the mccooey chapel.
come read and study scripture in this spiritual community, consider god's word in our world, and talk with others about god's place in your life right now. some students drop in occasionally while others come every week. all students are welcome.
